This December, Vivo is set to unveil its fresh S50 series in China, which will take the place of the S30 family. The lineup is likely to consist of the basic Vivo S50 and the S50 Pro Mini, carrying the codename ‘Battle Angel.’ Before the formal introduction, the organization has already pointed out the design and features through its personnel and online leaks.
Vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao, in a Weibo post, shared a photo of a phone from the S50 series in a golden hue. The gadget has two antenna lines on the right side, a power button, and volume buttons. Boxiao claimed that the series would contain an all-aluminium chassis that is made using a "new satin lithography process," thus assuring the customers of longevity and a top-notch build.
More pictures leaked by the informant Digital Chat Station imply that the range might have a triple rear camera setup which will be positioned in a squircle-shaped island at the top-left corner of the backside.
The Pro Mini model is expected to feature a periscope telephoto sensor with 50-megapixel resolution from Sony IMX882 1/1.95-inch. Vivo has promised that the camera will have a “clear and natural portrait algorithm,” just like its flagship phones. Previous rumors have also mentioned a 50-megapixel main camera variant with Sony LYT700V 1/1.56-inch sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS).
S50 Pro Mini will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC from Qualcomm, which was announced on November 26. Performance benchmarks reveal that the device can score approximately 3 million points on AnTuTu. The phone will come with LPDDR5x RAM of 9,600Mbps and UFS 4.1 storage to deliver better and faster data access.
With these specifications and design cues, the Vivo S50 series is expected to deliver improved camera capabilities, robust performance, and a premium build. Further details about pricing and exact launch dates are expected closer to the official unveiling in December.
